SC Villa maintained their superior record at home to Express with a deserving 2-0 win at Namboole on Friday afternoon.
On form Bashir Mutanda decided the match with a goal in each half to silence the Red Eagles who tamed former immediate champions KCCA three days ago.
The forward struck the Jogoos into the lead after 27 minutes after a brilliant cutback from David Owori went past Express goalie Ronald Mutebi.
He added his and SC Villa’s second at the hour mark with another trademark shot with Derrick Ndahiro bagging the assist.
The youngster, a handful for the Red Eagles throughout the game dispossessed Isaac Mutanga before laying for Mutanda who controlled and shot within seconds to send the home fans into frenzy.
It was SC Villa 5th straight home win over their bitter rivals and lifts them to 12th on the log with 12 points while Red Eagles stay 9th with 16 points from 12 games.
