KCCA Vs URA, 4pm
KCCA manager Mike Mutebi is demanding his strikers show cause three days before they face Vipers in a titanic title race encounter at St Mary’s Kitende.
But before the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) champions and Vipers face off on Friday, KCCA must improve their effectiveness in front of goal on Tuesday when they welcome URA to Lugogo.
KCCA have struggled for goals lately, scoring only two in the last 270 minutes.
“Our leading forwards have been firing blanks recently but is good that Muhammad Shaban has started scoring,” said Mutebi in reference to the striker’s winner over Kitara in the Uganda Cup quarterfinals at the weekend.
“But I can’t sit here and tell you that I’m very confident of my centre-fowards scoring tomorrow (Tuesday).
“I can speculate my other players will create scoring chances because to me, goals may decide the title if the league goals to the wire,” he added.
Mutebi, who expects URA to put up a stern challenge despite struggling in eighth on the log, claims “The pressure is on leaders Villa because they haven’t been in this situation in the last four years.”
Villa top standings on 49 points, with Vipers and KCCA three and four behind. The Jogoos have, however, played a game more.
Mutebi’s concerns upfront are not helped by injuries.
He faces URA without injured midfield players Muzamir Mutyaba and Sadam Juma, plus striker Derrick Nsibambi.
