KCCA manager Mike Mutebi is aware his team have quite lost their preferred free flowing style of play in recent games but is glad results are being ground out.

The Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) champions have won by a goal to nil in their last three matches and drawn goalless in one of them.

Their most recent 1-0 victory came over Soana on Saturday thanks to a Julius Poloto header.

The result moved them into second place in the log and level of 36 points with third placed Vipers. SC Villa lead standings on 37 points.

“We are happy with the result,” said Mutebi,  “The performance was average but the boys have shown character, have assumed responsibility that they will fight till the end.

“The belief that we can go out there and get a good result should be appreciated.”

Mutebi added: “The opponents play with confidence and that applies to all the other teams.

“So you have played Soana on paper but when you start playing its a different ball game.”

KCCA now shift focus to the Caf Champions League, where they face St George of Ethiopia this week.
