Caf Champions League

1st leg of 1st round, Wednesday, March 7

St George Vs KCCA

KCCA craftsman Muzamir Mutyaba returned from a long injury layoff against Soana on Saturday at a time the club needs his services most.

The Ugandan champions have 12 league matches left and embark on the first round of Caf Champions League against Ethiopia’s St George on Wednesday.

They will need all their resources available if they are to score on both fronts and Mutyaba, who played 80 minutes on Saturday, is itching to make up for the ground lost.

“I can’t say am 100 percent fit now but at least I can make an impact on the team as we chase the league, Uganda cup and Caf group stage slot,” Mutyaba told Daily Monitor.

“I have scored only two goals this season which concerns me.

“But I know with God all things are possible if you work hard.”

Mutyaba’s next immediate task is to help his side overcome perennial continental campaigners St George on Wednesday ahead of the return leg in Kampala.

The midfielder’s main concern, however, is not the Ethiopians game but rather the ‘harsh’ weather conditions.

“We played there in Cecafa (that Uganda Cranes won in 2015) but we were freezing.

“That said, St George is no longer the intimidating force they were some years ago. We have the advantage of starting well in Addis Ababa and finishing off the job at home where we are yet to lose.”

The KCCA travelling continent first watched a movie at Acacia on Sunday night before leaving for Addis Ababa.
