Caf Champions League
Preliminary round

Ugandan champions KCCA leave the country for Madagascar on Wednesday night without one of their creative forces in Muzamir Mutyaba.
Manager Mike Mutebi’s side face Madagascan outfit CNaPS on Saturday in the first leg of the Caf Champions League preliminary round in Antananarivo.
But they will have to do that without injured Mutyaba, who played an integral part in KCCA’s fairytale run in the Caf Confederation Cup last season, where they became the first Ugandan side to play on the group stage of a continental competition since the format was introduced.
But Mutebi is confident that Mutyaba, who has otherwise struggled to replicate the form of last season, will not be a catastrophic miss.
“He has not been influential this season,” explained Mutebi, “Allan Okello is back from academic duties and remember he is the most creative player in the league and we also have Lawrence Bukenya.”
Mutebi insists the team will play the ‘our way’ style in Madagscar and will attack the hosts as the best form of defence,” Mutebi added.
