Cranes captain at the Africa Nations Championship (Chan) Bernard Muwanga believes they learnt a lot from Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Guinea.

Uganda rallied through second half substitute Nelson Senkatuka to cancel out Camara Saidouba’s opener and Muwanga thinks they can draw positives ahead of Tuesday’s final friendly against Congo and Chan that kicks off this weekend.

“It was a good game despite missing out on a win,” said the defender, “We learnt a lot but my department needs to be alert in the next game to avoid conceding.

“The game has helped us learn a lot as we have targets for Chan finals.” Uganda’s ultimate target in Morocco, the Chan hosts, is to progress from the group stage, something they have failed to achieve in the last three editions.

Uganda open their Chan campaign against Zambia on Sunday before taking on Namibia and Ivory Coast.
