Joel Madondo had his scoring boots on as Kirinya edged Police 1-0 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) match played in Jinja on Tuesday.
There were also smiles for university side Ndejje, who went to Luzira and picked all three points with a 1-0 victory over Maroons.
Richardson Asaba scored Ndejje’s goal to earn the university side only their third league victory in 19 matches.
Victory moves Ndejje two places up to 14th on 13 points although they remain in the bottom three.
Maroons defeat keeps them.a place above relegation on 18 points.
Madondo’s 10th goal of the season moved Kirinya one place up to 10th on 24 points while defeat for Police dropped them one down to eighth on 27.
Elsewhere, there were shared spoils for Vipers away to Tooro, Mbarara at Bright Stars and Onduparaka at home to URA.
Godfrey Lwesibawa’s 16th minute goal had looked to land Tooro their eighth home win but Vipers new signing Hamis Kiiza levelled eight minutes from half time.
Vipers remain second on 38 points, three behind KCCA – who have played a match fewer. Tooro stayed sixth on 29 points.
