Wakiso Giants 3-0 Busoga United

BUL 1-1 NEC

Samuel Ssekamatte scored with six minutes to go to save StarTimes Uganda Premier League leaders BUL from a second defeat of the season at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru, on Sunday.

The edible oil makers had to settle for a point in the end after newcomers, NEC, tested their resolve.

Rashid Okocha was impressive on the day and will feel hard-done by Ssekamatte nullifying the NEC creative player’s match opener at the stroke of half time.

BUL’s second draw in 11 matches keeps the Jinja side top of the standings on 26 points, only three behind Vipers SC, who have played a match fewer.

NEC, who are enjoying a brilliant debut season, are third on 20 points from 11 games.

In Wakiso, Kenneth Kimera scored a first half brace and Hassan Ssenyonjo added another goal in the hosts emphatic victory over Busoga United, who saw Bashamu Mugua miss their first half penalty.

The Purple Sharks only second win in 11 matches keeps them just a place above relegation on 10 points, while Busoga are a place and point above.
