KCCA 0-2 NEC

NEC saw off KCCA 2-0 at the MTN Omondi Stadium to move into third place of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table on Thursday.

Off-season signing Cromwell Rwothomio was the star man, hitting a brace to condemn the hosts to their fifth successive defeat of the season.

League newcomers NEC’s fourth win in five matches has them in third place on 12 points, just three behind early pacesetters Kitara and BUL.

Rwothomio’s goals for NEC came in the fifth and 27th minutes to also earn him the Pilsner Man of the Match accolade.

As for KCCA, the Lugogo side can’t stop digging deeper.

Their fifth straight defeat in as many matches sends them to the bottom of the 16-team league with no points.

This was also the first match Jackson Magera was overseeing in interim capacity after replacing sacked Portuguese head coach Sergio Traguil on Wednesday.

Traguil, who was appointed in June on a two-year deal, was sacked after KCCA lost all their four opening matches.
