Busoga United 2-3 NEC
Soltilo Bright Stars 1-0 Wakiso Giants
Marvin Kavuma scored the winner with 20 minutes to go to earn visitors, NEC, a close 3-2 victory over hosts Busoga United at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru, on Sunday.
Two first half braces each from Busoga’s Aggrey Madoi and NEC’s Joseph Dhata provided an action packed 45 minutes to send the game to the break at 2-2.
Dhata buried Brian Kayanja’s assist as early as the second minute before Madoi levelled from the spot 19 minutes later.
NEC were once again ahead in this StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter when Dhata completed his brace, tucking away Shamir Kimwero’s pass on 37 minutes.
However, Madoi levelled again two minutes to the half time break.
But the visitors would have the last laugh, Kavuma hitting the winner on 70 minutes.
NEC’s eighth win in 16 matches moves them two places up to sixth on 27 points, while Busoga’s ninth defeat keeps them third from bottom on 15.
Elsewhere, striker Nelson Senkatuka scored his 11th goal of the season to earn hosts Soltilo Bright Stars a 1-0 victory over Wakiso Giants at Kavumba Ground.
That was Bright Stars fifth win in 16 games, lifting them up two places to ninth on 21 points, five more than Wakiso, who are five slots below.
