The StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) on Tuesday released what should be the final list of the first round fixtures with defending champions Express opening against newcomers Arua Hill this Friday.

That opening day match will be televised on Sanyuka TV via StarTimes.

But the big news in the fixture is record league champions SC Villa missing out on the list and Busoga United finally making it.

Villa and local football federation, Fufa, are at loggerheads over how elective matters at the club are handled.

Fufa competition director Aisha Nalule also says SC Villa were left out because they do not have a Chief Executive Officer, which is one of the basic licensing requirements.

“Each club is supposed to have a Chief Executive Officer,” she said.

“But as we talk now, we don’t have the CEO for Sports club Villa. So they failed on the governance structure.”

Recently, SC Villa confirmed that they had parted ways with their former CEO Shawn Mubiru and replaced him with Brenda Nambalirwa.

But according to Fufa, Nambalirwa is suspended after she was accused of taking football matters to court.

Nambalirwa ran to court to challenge the SC Villa presidential election.

Elsewhere, Busoga United finally fulfilled requirements after missing out on the initial fixture list.

In other matches on Friday, Mbarara City host Soltilo Bright Stars while Onduparaka welcome UPDF to Green Light Stadium in Arua City.

Police entertain Vipers SC at MTN Philip Omondi Stadium in a TV match on Sunday while Wakiso Giants welcome KCCA on the same day.
