
URA assistant coach Hamza Kalanzi will have to wait for at least four games without an appearance on the touchline.
The former Lweza tactician who joined the Tax Collectors as assistant to Paul Nkata following the sacking of Ibrahim Kirya and his technical team was sanctioned after he attacked match officials in a FUFA Big League game.
“The UPL Secretariat has received communication from FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel notifying us of a verdict taken upon Mr Kalanzi Hamza….” the letter addressed to URA CEO read in parts.
This was after he attacked the match officials during the match between Ntinda United Vs Kira United in Big League.
Mr. Kalanzi Hamza was coach of Kira Utd by the time of the incident. The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel preferred a four (4) match touchline ban against him and accordingly this will be carried on to the AUPL where Mr. Kalanzi Hamza is an Assistant Coach at URA FC.
Meanwhile, the sanction only applies to matches in the league and it takes immediate effect.
“The ban takes immediate effect. You are therefore informed that Mr. Kalanzi Hamza will remain suspended for the opening four (4) AUPL matches that involve URA FC.
Kalanzi was on the touchline as URA finished second in the 2018 Mapinduzi Cup.
