There were on shocks on the day in the Uganda Cup as premiership sides advanced to the round of 16.

JMC Hippos were the narrowest survivors as they won 5-4 on penalties against tricky Ndejje University in Luwero.

The match ended goalless after 90 minutes and the Jinja side, struggling in the league prevailed in post-match spot kicks.

At Namboole, Sadolin Paints needed a brilliant strike from Jamal Sijal to dump out Agape SS.

The well-travelled midfielder looped the entire defence plus the goalie with an effort from over 20 yards.

In the other match on the day, Yesseri Waibi scored an own goal as URA edged Bul at Mehta Grounds, Lugazi.

The goal came in the 35th minute following pressure from the hosts but the second half belonged to the visitors who pressed for the leveller but in vain.

Elsewhere, a brace from Hood Kaweesa inspired Police over fellow premiership The Saints at Nakivubo.

Aggrey Kirya also scored into his own net while Hakim Ssenkumba sent the ball rolling with a penalty earlier in the game after a foul on Rauben Kimera.

Julius Malingumu pulled one back for the visitors late in the game as the Cops registered a fourth successive victory in all competitions under Abdallah Mubiru.

At Kakyeeka stadium, last year’s finalists Onduparaka survived a scare when Mbarara got in front in the second half.

But not even a missed penalty from Muhammad Shaban could deter their resilience to rally and win 2-1.

Dickens Okwi and Ceaser Okhuti scored for the Caterpillars to survive an exit.
