No stopping Bright Stars, Villa fall to Ondu

Tuesday results:

Soltilo Bright Stars 3-1 Mbarara City

Onduparaka 1-0 SC Villa

Busoga United 1-1 Wakiso Giants

UPDF 1-1 MYDA

Nine goals were scored in four StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches played on Tuesday as the competition goes deep into the business end.

Onduparaka and Soltilo Bright Stars took the day, dispatching SC Villa and Mbarara City 1-0 and 3-1 respectively.

Bright Stars and Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo simply cannot stop doing their thing, with striker netting a brace and defender Derrick Ngoobi getting the other goal at Kavumba.

Ssekamatte’s first goal came in the 23rd minute with a powerful header past goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekebba, Andrew Kaggwa providing the assist.

Bashir Mutanda equalised for Mbarara four minutes later but Ssekamatte got his second and 12th of the season after being teed on by Joseph Janjali.

Ngoobi later put it out of Mbarara’s reach with Bright Stars third.

Bright Stars’ 10th victory of the season in 23 games takes them to 37 points in sixth position.

Mbarara City’s seventh defeat keeps them on 26 points, just near the ref zone.

In Arua, 10-man Onduparaka paused their poor tun with a huge 1-0 victory over SC Villa, Kabon Livin scoring the goal.

The match was so tense in the dying minutes that Onduparaka’s Ramathan Musema was sent off the team bench.

Elsewhere, Busoga United and Wakiso Giants, and UPDF versus Myda played out one-all draws.
