Uganda may have fallen short at Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya and Cosafa Under-20 in Zambia but two stars stood out.
Moses Basena’s Cranes could only finish third in a tournament they were gunning for a record 15th title, while Matia Lule’s Hippos came fourth at Cosafa, where they featured as guests.
But at both competitions Uganda produced a top scorer, and for KCCA, it could not have been a better outing for their sharp shooters.
Derrick Nsibambi top-scored at Cecafa with four goals, the same number Shaban returned by Muhammad Shaban in Zambia for the juniors.
Both Nsibambi and Shaban now turn their guns back to the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL), where they come up against Kirinya-Jinja on Wednesday.
Champions KCCA are second in the log on 23 points, five behind leaders SC Villa, who host Proline on Wednesday.
