KCCA 2-1 Bul

Striker Derrick Nsibambi scored a late, late winner as KCCA edged Bul 2-1 at StarTimes Stadium to take the league title chase to the final day.

The clock was ticking down after Jean Pier Kambale’s 81st minute goal had cancelled out Nsibambi’s first half opener when the striker headed home the winner in the fourth minute of added time.

Victory for manager Mike Mutebi’s men moves them to 60 points, two behind leaders Vipers, who pummeled Express 5-0.

Vipers will claim their third Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) title if they beat UPDF on Friday but defeat, coupled with KCCA’s victory over Police, will see the former retain it.

“The boys wanted to win and I’m happy they finally did it,” said Mutebi, “I have always maintained that it will go down to the wire.”

KCCA went ahead when Sadam Juma’s well-floated ball found Nsibambi’s chest, the striker turning and shooting past Bul goalkeeper Sebwalunyo on 21 minutes for a halt time lead.

But late on and against the run of play the visitors, coached by coach Kefa Kisala, hit back through a Kambale long range drive past Charles Lukwago on 81 minutes.

Lugogo went dead silent, but late in the fourth of the four added minutes, Nsibambi headed home the winner to claim all three points.
