Under George ‘Best’ Nsimbe, KCCA won the league title in 2012/13 and defended it the following year.
With him at Vipers SC now, he is confident the reigning champions will retain their crown despite sitting four points behind leaders KCCA albeit with a game in hand.
“It’s now where we want to be but it’s not far behind either,” he told upl.ug. “Like I said before, the league is a marathon. We can win points and lose them as well and so are other teams. What we demand now from the boys is consistence.”
Vipers won 1-0 against Maroons on Tuesday through Erisa Ssekisambu goal and although the performance was wanting, Nsimbe was impressed with the result.
“I don’t take the performance but with open hands, the result is what we targeted.”
Vipers’ next outing will be on Friday April 1 against rivals SC Villa at Buikwe.
