Joseph Ochaya has become the first player in the history of KCCA to bag the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season award.

At the inaugural awards ceremony held at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo, the left back as expected won the award dubbed Phillip Omondi.

On a night that saw all previous KCCA chairpersons awarded and attended by several club legends led by Tom Lwanga, Peter Wandyette and life patron Mister Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, the glamour was on show.

Ochaya, who on top going home with a plaque and Ugx. 1 million thanked everyone around him for the gong and said it’s an impetus for him to work hard next season.

“It feels good to be recognized,” a visibly excited Ochaya stated. “I am honored and this gives me the impetus to work even harder in the subsequent seasons ahead. I also thank my teammates, technical staff, management and fans for the collective effort throughout the season,” he added.

In other winners on the day, Habib Kavuma scooped the award for most disciplined player (Tom Lwanga) and with it a cheque of Ugx. 0.4 Million.

Midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba won the Players Player of the year award while Allan Okello was named the Young Player of the Year award dubbed Jackson Mayanja.

Kawempe Fans Branch was voted fans’ branch of the season while Ali Mabeele was the best fan.

The Uganda Premier League was represented by Secretary Peter Kibazo who thanked KCCA for a fantastic season.
