Gaddafi 1-3 UPDF
Express 2-1 Police
Express registered their first win under interim coach James Odoch as they edged Police 2-1 at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
But the Red Eagles had to come from a goal down after veteran midfielder Tony Mawejje had given Police a first half lead from a Juma Balinya ball.
George Senkaaba was at the end of a Sadiq Ssekyembe corner in first half stoppage time for the equaliser.
Ivan Mayanja then put Express ahead for the first time on 56 minutes when the ball rebounded to him after his initial effort crashed off the upright.
Express had not won a StatTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) game in six attempts since Odoch replaced Wasswa Bbosa as coach.
The result keeps Express in sixth position with 36 points after 23 games while Police drop a place lower to 10th on 25 points from as many games.
In Jinja, the UPDF were also in fiery mood as they thrashed Gaddafi 3-1 in the battle of soldiers.
Ezekiel Katende scored the opener after just 12 minutes from a free kick but Brian Kalumba equalised just a few minutes to the break.
But Ambrose Kigozi restored the lead seven minutes after restart before Danito Okello sealed the win on 58 minutes.
The result leaves the two sides tied on 27 points but with Gaddafi ahead on a better goal difference.
