Express 2-0 Lweza
Nestroy Kizito was sent off for Lweza as Tony Odur helped himself to a brace to earn Express their first ever double over the former in the Wankulukuku derby.
The pre-match attention went to former Express stars Sula Bagala and Emma Kalyowa, who crossed to Lweza in the January window, but it was veteran Odur who grabbed the headlines.
The well-travelled striker notched his first in the 36th minute, rising above everyone else to head home Simon Sserunkuma cross.
Lweza’s hopes of equalizing were dented when they went a man down in the 70th minute when Kizito was sent off after a second yellow card.
Three minutes later, Express doubled the lead with Odur netting his eighth of the season as the Red Eagles moved to fourth on the log with 39 points, same as third-placed URA, who have a superior goal difference.
Despite the loss, Lweza remain stuck in 10th position with 31 points with four games to go.
