Record Uganda Cup holders have been ejected at the round of the 32 of the Uganda Cup by lower division side, Kitara.
The Red Eagles played to a 1-1 draw at the Booma Grounds, Hoima but saw spot kicks saw David Ndihabwe and Alfred Leku spot kicks saved in the penalty shootout.
Leku had given the visitors a first half lead that was cancelled out by Mande Denis in normal time.
At Kavumba, 2016 Cup finalists Onduparaka also bowed out at the hands of Soana in a five goal thriller.
Soana at one time had a 3-0 goal lead cut to 3-2 but they held on for a result that takes them to the round of 16 of the Stanbic Bank sponsored competition.
Onduparaka goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato had earlier missed a chance to draw his side level from the spot at 1-0.
The biggest game on the day was at St. Mary’s Kitende where Police lost 3-1 to hosts Vipers in an entertaining encounter.
Norman Ojik put the hosts in the lead inside two minutes but the hosts rallied through Milton Karisa, Erisa Ssekisambu and Daniel Sserunkuma strikes to win the game.
Action continues on Sunday with holders KCCA away to FUFA Big League side, Simba in Gayaza.
