Following a one day break, the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) returns with three fixtures; in Kampala, Jinja and Arua.
In Kampala, Proline will play at home to resurgent Police at Phillip Omondi stadium in the televised game of the day.
Both teams come into the fixture full on confidence after winning their respective second round openers and hope to build on that.
Proline beat visiting Onduparaka 3-1 at the same venue a week ago while Police won 2-0 against Sadolin Paints at Nakivubo.
The hosts will rely on the form of striker Nelson Senkatuka who scored once and set up the other two against The Caterpillars as well as skipper Gift Ali whose deadly ball prowess must be keenly watched by the Cops.
It’s a match that will see Abdallah Mubiru, current cops’ tactician take on his former side and will be his player, William Wadri who began his career with the Wandegeya side.
The hosts are 9th on the log with 19 points while Police are 13th with two points less but victory will see them leapfrog their opponents.
In Arua, wounded Onduparaka host URA seeking to get back to winning ways after losing to Proline.
Charles Livingstone Mbabazi’s side lost the reverse fixture 3-1 in Lugazi and will be seeking to avenge that defeat.
Muhammad Shaban, 9 goals so far will be the key man for the hosts while the visitors will look to Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza for inspiration.
Onduparaka, 4th on the log with 25 points have a chance to go 3rd with maximum points while the Tax Collectors can move to 4th with victory.
Elsewhere, both Express and Bul face off at Kakindu targeting first win in the new calendar year.
The Red Eagles, 8th on the table drew their first league tie in the second round while Bul lost 2-0 at KCCA despite dominating proceedings.
