Onduparaka 2-1 Gaddafi
Onduparaka finally won a game of league football, again, following a 2-1 victory over Gaddafi at Green Light Stadium in Arua on Saturday.
Rashid Okocha was the hero for the West Nile side, scoring a late winner in the first minute of added time in this StarTimes Uganda Premier League hotly contested encounter.
Ezra Bida had earlier in the 15th minute taken full advantage of William Gama’s assist to shoot the hosts ahead but Steven Munguchi latched onto Frank Mulimu’s ball to equalise for Gaddafi 50 minutes on the clock.
However, Gama had other ideas, the eventual Pilsner Man of the Match again orchestrating things and setting up Okocha for the winner in injury time to send the home crowd into raptures.
This was Onduparaka’s only second win in 17 matches. The Caterpillars, however, remain rooted at the bottom of the log on 10 points after enduring a sanction-laden first round, where they lost far too many points.
On their part, coach Wasswa Bbosa’s Gaddafi, who were losing their sixth game in 16, fell one place into ninth on 22 points.
