Friday result

Onduparaka 0-0 SC Villa

Onduparaka and visitors SC Villa drew goalless their respective second game of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) season at Bombo Military Barracks Ground on Friday.

The result moves SC Villa up to second and level on four points with leaders Maroons.

Onduparaka, who drew goalless their opener against URA, move up to 13th place on zero points but with a better goal difference with those below them.

The Caterpillars started the season with negative two points and minus as many goals because of a sanction.

This was also the first of five home games Onduparaka will play away from their Green Light Stadium.

The Fufa Competitions Disciplinary Panel on 14th June, 2022 sanctioned Onduparaka for violation of the FUFA Competitions rules and regulations regarding acts of hooliganism.

The club was deducted two points and two goals, which were deferred to 2022/2023 SUPL season.

Onduparaka were also ordered to play their first five home matches of the 2022/2023 SUPL season at a neutral venue outside West Nile Province.

In addition, that venue had to be licensed to host SUPL games and would be without spectators.

In the game itself, there was nothing to separate the two sides.

It is the Villa goalkeeper Martin Elungat who worked hardest, ending up with a Pilsner Man of the Match accolade.

Elungat had to be at his best to thwart Onduparaka’s Rashid Okocha when the forward broke free on eight minutes.

The guests, Villa, themselves had a chance of their own late on, Hassan Musana sent in a good ball but Sheif Batte put it wide when scoring seemed an easier option.
