KCCA assistant manager believes the team has moved on from the stunning 1-2 loss away to Onduparaka.
The champions lost their 100% record start to the 2016/17 Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) campaign thanks to Muhammad Shaban brace but as they prepare to take on The Saints, Byekwaso says all that is in the past.
“First, in football, you win and lose some,” he told upl.co.ug. “But they are all psyched and their attention is on games in front of them starting with one against The Saints,” he added.
The former KCCA and SC Villa midfielder also had kind words for midfielders Muzamiru Mutyaba and Paul Mucureezi who were into oblivion in the loss to The Caterpillars.
They had a bad game just like the team but they have played well in the rest of the games.
On new signing Ssentongo and Okhuti loan deal to Onduparaka
KCCA acquired the services of striker Robert Ssentongo and Byekwaso was non-committal on whether he was to debut against The Saints.
His fitness levels are low as compared to his other teammates but you never know, he may get minutes but what am very sure about, he won’t start.
Ssentongo’s arrival coincided with Okhuti leaving the club for at least six months on loan at Onduparaka.
“He wanted first team football which we couldn’t guarantee here,” said Byekwaso. “But we believe in his abilities and we are hopeful he will return better and sharper.”
