Police 4-3 Express
Police finally won their first game of the second round of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) season when they edged Express 4-3 in an exciting seven-goal thriller at Namboole on Saturday .
Norman Ojik (brace), Pius Kaggwa and
Ben Ocen netted for Police while Express goals came from Mubaraka Nsubuga and Ayubu Kisalita (double).
The victory keeps Police seventh on 28 points while defeat for Express just worsens the Red Eagles plight.
Express dangerously sit bottom of the 16-team table with as many points. They have 10 matches left for them to redeem themselves.
Ojik gave Police the lead after just three minutes but Express hit back through Nsubuga two minutes later.
Express then went 2-1 up when defender Kisalita connected home on 34 minutes, but the Cops restored parity five minutes after the break through Kaggwa.
The Red Eagles took the lead once more when Kisalita completed his brace on 65 minutes but coach Abdallah Mubiru’s Police made it 3-3 as Ojik got his second of the match.
At this point, both teams thought they had rescued a point, but Police made one more attack at the death and Ocen ensured all three points went to the Cops in the second minute of added time.
