Police halt KCCA winning run as UPDF see off Myda

Friday results

KCCA 1-1 Police

Myda 0-3 UPDF

Sixth-placed UPDF moved to 24 points, six off the leadership, following their emphatic 3-0 away victory at Myda on Friday.

Robert Eseru, Brian Kalumba and Davis Kasirye were on target as the soldiers won their second straight game, the last a 1-0 over Express.

UPDF’s goals came in the 26th, 34th and 61st minutes to confirm the soldiers eighth victory in 14 matches.

Myda’s 11th defeat in 14 games keeps them rooted on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) table.

In the day’s other game played at the MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, hosts KCCA had to come from behind to salvage a point against Police.

Manager Mike Mutebi’s men had come into this on the back of four successive victories.

But it was coach Abdallah Mubiru’s cops that took the lead through Muwada Mawejje on 13 minutes.

Youngster Sadat Anaku levelled matters 21 minutes from full time.

The result keeps KCC fourth on 27 points, a place and two points below Police.
