SC Villa Vs Sadolin Paints – Nakivubo 4.00pm Live on Azam TV
Only four goals were registered on three Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) matches on Friday afternoon.
Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku witnessed a dull goalless stalemate despite pre-match hype of the match between rivals Express and Vipers.
The two sides cancelled out each other in a game of no or few chances as none registered a shot on target in the opening 45 minutes.
The only chance of the game fell to visitors through Milton Karisa who failed in his attempt to beat goalie Emmanuel Opio and slot home.
Vipers’ coach Richard Wasswa made brave decisions prior to the game by leaving out former Express players, Tony Odur and Ibrahim Kayiwa from his match squad.
A point leaves the two-time league champions 4th on the table with 28 points while Express stay 8th with four points less.
At Kavumba, Police made a winning return to their former home with a deserved 2-1 victory over Soana.
Ben Ocen converted from the spot in the 28th minute after Yasin Mugume was felled in the area by Yasin Mugume but Francis Olaki equalised with a beauty five minutes to the break after nice work by Baker Lukooya.
But two minutes after recess, the Cops regained their lead with a screamer from Rahmat Ssenfuka and there was no change to the score line at the final whistle.
Abdallah Mubiru’s side are now on 23 points, 9th on the table after 18 games while Soana are two points and four places ahead.
Elsewhere, Nelson Senkatuka scored in the last minute of the first half to give Proline a 1-0 important win over hosts URA at Mehta Grounds, Lugazi.
The win, Proline’s fourth in 18 games takes them to 10th on the table with 22 points while URA, four-time champions are 7th with three points more.
