Police resurrect survival hopes as Busoga, Stars falter

Frank Kalanda scored a hat-trick as Police came from a goal down to beat Wakiso Giants 3-1 at Wakissha.

The forward cancelled out an early goal from Moses Aliro to give Cops another chance to fight for survival with two games left to complete the season.

Despite staying in the red zone, Police are now just one point behind safety after Busoga United who are on 29 points was beaten at KCCA.

The Jinja based side took a lead against the Kasasiro Shaka Ssozi but an own goal from Douglas Bithum before the break and Erisa Ssekisambu strike at the hour mark ensured KCCA took all three points.

At the Arena of Visions in Ndejje, Shafik Kagimu scored twice to add to an early strike by Cromwell Rwothomio as URA picked maximum points off Soltilo Bright Stars.

The result leaves Bright Stars who ended the match with a man less after Cleos Fiat was red carded on 30 points two above the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Martin Kizza added to an own goal by George Kasonko to hand Express a 2-1 win over BUL FC at Wankulukuku.

Bul’s only goal was netted by Simon Oketch.

At Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru, SC Villa put an end to Vipers’ long winning run holding the champions to a goalless draw which increased the Jogoos survival chances.
