Hosts Police will be out end a poor run of results when they host UPDF at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

The fifth placed Cops have now gone five games minus victory and bowed out of the Uganda Cup at the expense of Vipers on Saturday.

With a loss and draw in as many second round games, Abdallah Mubiru’s charges are aware that nothing short of maximum points will leave their campaign in shambles.

“It’s a must win game for us if we are to stay on the right path for our season target,” said Mubiru. “The boys know how important each game means to us and must be at their best,” he added.

Though at the base of the table with 14 points, the army side has improved a lot and haven’t lost in two second round games played – a draw away and a win at home against Masavu and Proline respectively.

They will look to youngster Joseph Janjali and on form Fahad Bardiro for inspiration against a side that have only lost once at Namboole this season.

Police have left back Aggrey Madoi back in the team after he sat out the Cup defeat to parent club Vipers while new signing Pius Kagwa will most likely get his debut after getting his license.

Hood Kaweesa’s early strike separated the two teams in the reverse fixture at Bombo in Steven Bogere’s maiden game for the former giants.
