The Azam Uganda Premier League match day five gets to conclusion on Saturday with four games at various grounds.
The match of the day will be at Namboole where third placed Police hosts log leaders Vipers in a battle for top spot.
The hosts, on seven points will assume the summit with maximum points against a side yet to lose and concede in the campaign and with 10 points, even a draw will keep them afloat.
Police coach Abdallah Mubiru thinks the two weeks international break has helped the side work on their problems and despite having respect for their opponents, they are not scared.
“We have had two weeks of no activity and this period has helped us refocus and work on our weaknesses,” said Mubiru. “We are well prepared for the game against the table leaders,” he added.
“They are a big team whom we respect but we don’t fear them. We lost our last game so we need to get back strongly and keep our objectives on track.
Edward Golola who was assistant to Mubiru in his short stint at Vipers is positive the boys will pick maximum points.
“The boys are mentally and physically set for the game,” he said. “It will be tough against a side that we lost to last season but football isn’t played on history,” he added.
Besides Aggrey Madoi, on loan from Vipers, Mubiru has a full squad to pick from.
Vipers have Congolese striker Moussa Mbayi back from injury but still without defender Halid Lwaliwa and Duncan Sseninde.
In Jinja, Bul visit champions KCCA seeking to build on the previous win over UPDF.
The champions, 7th on the log are without over five starters in Isaac Muleme (compassionate leave), Muzamiru Mutyaba, Paul Musamali and Derrick Nsibambi who are out injured.
At Masaka, SC Villa who were docked two points for the fans violence in Kitende close to a month ago host UPDF targeting maximum points to keep up with early pacesetters.
The Jogoos are likely to be without winger Simon Sserunkuma who is serving a club suspension as well goalkeeper Samson Kirya whose two match ban starts.
Vitalis Tabu is also absent as he is away on trials in South Africa but Wasswa Bbosa has choices in Godfrey Lwesibawa, Alex Kitaata, Ayub Bogere and Martin Kizza among others.
