Bright Stars celebrate their equaliser against Kirinya Jinja SS

Proline and Bright Stars earned their first season victories with wins over Soana and Kirinya Jinja SS respectively.

Fahad Bayo and Joseph Mandela scored the goals for Proline in a comfortable win at Lugogo.

The first goal came after 27 minutes when Soana failed to clear their lines and Bayo’s overhead kick hit the back of the net.

Mandela should have made it 2-0 five minutes later but missed from close range after hitting a half volley.

In the 40th minute, Mandela got his reward with his first of the season after he controlled a low cross from the right before slotting home.

They were also dominant in the second half but failed to increase their goal tally as they missed chance after chance with David Owori and substitute Daniel Isiagi the chief culprits.

Proline move to 11th on the log with four points while Soana are 12th with same points but inferior goal difference.

At Matugga, Bright Stars rallied from a goal down to inflict the first loss on visiting Kirinya Jinja SS.

Nelson Ssenkatuka and Joshua Kawadwa scored the goals to cancel out Musa Esenu’s first goal at the club.

Esenu, on loan from Vipers put the visitors in the lead after five minutes before Senkatuka equalised in the 27th minute and Kawadwa won it with twenty minutes to full time.

Fred Kajoba’s side moved to 3rd place on the log with six points after four games whilst Kirinya Jinja SS are 6th with a point adrift.
