• Proline 3-2 Maroons

Proline extended their decent run with a hard fought 3-2 win over visiting Maroons at Lugogo.

Pilsner Man of the Match Edirisa Lubega opened the scoring for the hosts before he won a penalty converted by Mustafa Mujjuzi as they took a 2-0 lead into the break.

Steven Mukwala halved the deficit in the second period but any hope of a comeback was distinguished when substitute Hamis Kizza slotted home the hosts’ third.

Another substitute Solomon Walusimbi made the sure the game had a photo finish as he pulled another goal for Maroons but Proline held on for all points.

They are now on eight points in from 12 games and could surprisingly end the campaign out of relegation in case they pick maximum points from their remaining three games in the first round.

Maroons remain 7th on the 16-team table with 19 points and have one game against Vipers on Friday to end their first round.
