Proline punish Express, Police pick first win

SUPL, Tuesday collated results

Kyetume 0-1 Police

Proline 2-1 Express

Bright Stars 0-0 URA

Proline came from behind to beat Express 2-1 at StarTimes Stadium in the Uganda Premier League (UPL) on Tuesday.

Both skipper Nurudin Bunjo and defender Mustafa Mujuzi scored from set pieces for the home side to relegate Disan Galiwango’s opener to a consolation.

Galiwango gave the visitors the lead on 18 minutes but Bunjo levelled four minutes later.

Mujuzi made sure of all three points nine minutes from full time with a thunderous drive from a free kick.

Victory improved Proline’s points from negative to at least zero, albeit staying at the bottom of the log.

Coach Matia Luke’s side were docked six points and goals for not honouring their match against SC Villa.

For George Ssimwogerere’s Express, this was their fourth defeat in six games, leaving them in 13th place.

Elsewhere, Ben Ocen scored the only goal as Police beat Kyetume for their first win of the season, while URA could only settle for a goalless draw at Bright Stars.
