URA 1-1 Wakiso Giants

URA came from a goal down to earn a point as they were held 1-1 at home in Ndejje by Wakiso Giants on Tuesday.

The Taxmen needed Cromwell Rwothomio’s 64th minute leveller to prevent a home embarrassment as coach Sam Timbe’s men drew for the sixth time in 11 StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches.

Simon Namwanja had given the visitors the lead in added time of the first half as the Purple Sharks picked a fairly valuable point, although they will feel hard-done for not having held on for all three.

URA, who have won just four times, losing one other, are seventh on the 16-team log with 18 points from a possible 33.

That is a massive 11 points behind leaders Vipers and KCCA, who have, however, played a game more.

The point has Wakiso Giants, who had a terrible start to the campaign before embarking on a run of positive results, a place above URA, but the Purple Sharks have played two matches more than the Taxmen.
