Sadolin Paints 1-0 Maroons
Maroons dreadful season in the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL) continued on Saturday as the 10 men fell 1-0 away to Sadolin Paints.
Occupying the bottom of the 16-team log for majority of the season, Paddy Kintu’s Maroons succumbed to their 15th defeat of the campaign; Nasser Muzamiru’s second half strike ensuring Sadolin took the day.
The Prisons side were coming off a rare 1-0 victory over Police in their preceding game. That win over the Cops was only their third of the season.
They travelled to Jinja hoping to record their first two victories on the trot since they regained promotion last season.
By the 70th minute, the dream was still on. But in the next minute, they fell behind to Muzamiru’s goal.
Maroons day was compounded in added time when their goalkeeper Jamil Malyamungu was sent off. It could be a matter of time before the entire team is showed red – from topflight football.
Victory for Sadolin has the Jinja side in seventh with 37 points, 21 more than Maroons at the basement.
