SCVU 1-4 The Saints

For the second time this season, the Saints won a match by scoring four goals when they put the said number past fellow relegation candidates, SCVU, in the 4-1 victory on Tuesday.

Isaac Sserunkuma helped himself to a double on 19 and 70 minutes and Isaac Kirabira and Owen Kasule added the others in either half as Moses Basena’s men cruised. Samuel Mutumba scored SCVU’s consolation.

The result was crucial in the Saints’ continued fight for survival in the Azam Uganda Premier League (UPL).

It keeps them just above relegation with 23 points from 22 matches. Simba, tied on 19 points with SCVU, and Maroons, rooted on 16, occupy the drop zone.

The Saints’ first scored four goals in a match when they thumped Soana 4-0 at Namboole on March 5, 11 days after beating Bul 3-1.

Now with eight matches remaining for the Saints, they have a better chance of surviving the chop than Simba, SCVU and Maroons, who are left with just six.
