SC Villa decent start to the new season faces its biggest test when they host nemesis Vipers at Namboole under floodlights.

Unlike last campaign, the hosts are in different mode this time around with 10 points and find themselves second on the 16-team log although they have played two more games than 5th placed Vipers who are on seven points.

The clash comes at a time when the Jogoos are beaming with confidence and they will hope Ambrose Kirya and Emmanuel Kalyowa – two goals each continue to flourish.

Bashir Mutanda is yet to find the back of the net but like Derrick Ndahiro has been involved in attack and will be another threat to the Venoms defence.

For Vipers, winners of their past three visits in seven to the 16-time league champions, Fahad Bayo, Abraham Ndugwa and Allan Kayiwa as well as Daniel Sserunkuma will be pivotal.

The side could also unleash deadly Muhammad Shaban whose debut has been delayed by injuries.

Vipers won the corresponding fixture 3-1 at Namboole but equally lost by the same score line against less fancied Jogoos then.

A win for either will not only add to their points tally but also psychologically boost the team.
