SC Villa 2-0 Wakiso Giants
SC Villa continued their steady progress under coach Edward Kaziba as they dismissed Wakiso Giants 2-0 in Wednesday’s night game at Namboole.
Amir Kakomo and David Owori scored the two second half goals as the 16-time champions clawed back into second place on the table.
Villa now trail surprise leaders Bul, who thrashed reigning StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions KCCA 3-0 on Tuesday, by just one point.
Bul are on 16 and at seven matches, they hold an advantage having played one game fewer than Villa.
Wakiso Giants fourth defeat in eight matches left them in eighth with 10 points.
The two teams evenly contested the match in the first 45 minutes but Villa’s firepower soon proved supreme.
It took the hosts just 10 minutes into the second half to take the lead through Kakomo, and with 16 minutes left to play, Owori put the contest to the end.
