  • SC Villa Vs Vipers – Masaka Recreation Ground 4pm

All roads lead to Masaka Recreation Ground where a potential title decider is on as table leaders SC Villa host third placed Vipers on Tuesday.

The Jogoos come into the game six points clear of the two time champions but with 49 points from 23 games, they have played on more game than their rivals.

SC Villa lost the reverse fixture 1-0 at Kitende thanks to Tom Masiko goal and a synonymous result in Masaka will mean the title race is wide open once again.

But if Villa win, that will mean Vipers’ title charge is all but done and thus, will fight tooth and nail not to lose grip.

Taddeo Lwanga, former SC Villa captain who is now a player at Vipers expects a tough game but knows the amount of importance attached to the fixture.

“For sure, it’s an important game,” said Lwanga. “As a team, we have prepared for the best way possible and we know their threat especially Martin Kizza, their top scorer but they have more quality than just Kizza,” he added.

For Paul Mukatabala, the SC Villa assistant coach, the game is so big that if won, the Jogoos will put one hand on the trophy they last won in 2004.

“If we get a victory, it’s one big grasp on this season’s title quest,” he told upl.co.ug. “So we are well aware of the significance of tomorrow’s clash with fellow title contenders, Vipers SC,” he added.

SC Villa won 1-0 against Vipers last season at Masaka Recreation Ground.
