Champions KCCA returned to winning ways with a 3-0 thrashing of visitors Police at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
Geoffrey Sserunkuma bagged a brace on the day to take his personal tally to six while Derrick Nsibambi scored his first of the season.
The ex-Lweza centre forward got at the end of a beautiful cut back from Isaac Muleme to make it 1-0 in the 9th minute and he doubled the lead three minutes later.
Nsibambi completed the day with a third rising above everyone to head home Paul Musamali cross in the 70th minute.
Mike Mutebi’s now go three points clear at the summit with 22 points, three more than second placed Vipers on same games (10) while Cops are 15th with just 7 points.
At Kakindu, SC Villa moved up third on the table with a 1-0 victory over Bul.
The Jogoos scored with a minute to half time through returning Ambrose Kirya and with just 9 games, they are on 18 points while Frank ‘Video’ Anyau’s men languish in relegation spot 14.
Elsewhere, Sam Ssimbwa’s Soana missed an opportunity to go third after drawing 2-2 with Lweza.
The hosts got in front through former Lweza midfielder Emmanuel Kalyowa but were pegged back by Paddy Muhumuza and Hassan Kikooyo’s goals.
Soana dropped to 4th on the log with 17 points while Lweza are 9th with 11 points.
Action continues on Saturday with Express seeking a return to winning ways with a home tie against Bright Stars.
