AUPL Result
SC Villa 2-1 Proline
SC will go into the first round break top of the table after coming from behind to beat Proline 2-1 in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) in Masaka on Wednesday.
Yahaya Kakooza and Martin Kizza scored for the 16-time record league winners after Musa Mukasa’s own goal had put Proline ahead.
The Jogoos now maintain a five-point lead at the summit on 31 points, with the closest – KCCA – on 26. Defeat for Proline leaves them in 10th place on 17 points.
The victory means that even if Villa fail to beat Kirinya-Jinja in the first round’s final match on Saturday, they will still go into the half term break top of the table.
Villa are looking for their first league title in 14 years, their last coming in 2004 when still coached by former Cranes boss Micho Sredojevic.
