The expected changes at SC Villa have been ushered in this Sunday with the club unveiling a new technical team at a function held at Jevine Hotel in Rubaga, Kampala.
The team which begins work with immediate effect is headed by former player Deo Sserwadda as head Coach and assisted by Shafik Bisaso.
Sserwadda joins from first Division side Police Mobile although he has also been handling Kyambogo while Bisaso has been in charge of FUFA Big League side Masavu.
He also handles Busujju in the ongoing 2016 Masaza Cup and is the record winning coach of the competition with three trophies to his name.
Less known Christopher Robo will be the goalkeeping Coach at the record league winners putting an end to Ibrahim Kirya’s tenure at the Blues.
Over 36 applied for the job but club chairman Ben Misagga revealed the secret behind Sserwadda and company standing out.
“First, we needed someone who had won the Ugandan league before,” he started. “Sserwadda did it with URA and also won the Uganda Cup while Bisaso is the record winner of the Masaza Cup. We are seeing them winning trophies for the Jogoos,” he added.
Sserwadda won the league with URA in 2006-07 and also guided them to triumph in the Uganda Cup.
“First of all, am glad to be back home,” stated Sserwadda. “I thank the executive for trusting me with this job and I assure you, am going to do the job wholeheartedly and with the backing of all stakeholders, am confident of doing the job.”
