Masavu 0-3 SC Villa
SC Villa’s dream of winning their first league title in 13 years got a boost on Tuesday when they opened a five-point lead at the summit.
The 16-time record champions thrashed lowly Masavu 3-0 in Entebbe to move to 28 points, with closest challengers KCCA and Police all dropping points on the day.
Three second half strikes by Bernard Muwanga, Abel Eturude and Yubu Bogere were enough to record coach Wasswa Bbosa’s ninth victory of the season.
SC Villa could have made the difference in the first half but Allan Kyambadde missed a free header and Martin Kizza hit the post.
Enterprising midfielder Eturude is the man who lit up the day with his goal.
He received the ball from the centre and beat nearly half a dozen Masavu players before curling home the ball beyond the advancing goalkeeper Ali Kiggundu.
