In the aftermath of the untimely closure of Nakivubo stadium, SC Villa and Police which used the stadium as their home venue have found home elsewhere. The Jogoos are back to Masaka Recreation Ground where they used to play in the early 90s while Police will play at Namboole.

Uganda Premier League CEO Bernard Bainamani confirmed receipt of letters from the respective clubs but says the licensing committee of FUFA have the last say on SC Villa’s new home.

“I have received a copy of the letter addressed to the licensing committee but there will be assessment of the ground before approval.”

This is the second time in the same season that the 16-time league champions and Police have changed homes.

At the beginning of the season, SC Villa hosted their games at Namboole while Kavumba Recreation was the Cops’ home.

Already this season, Kirinya and Sadolin Paints left Bugembe for Kakindu and Namboole respectively while Vipers are on the brink of officially playing their homes at St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende after moving away from Nakivubo stadium.
