Martin Kizza was once again the star man as SC villa saw off Soana 2-0 in a rescheduled game played at Kavumba Ground on Wednesday to reclaim summit.
The left-footed winger opened the scoring on two minutes with a low right-footed drive after collecting a pass from Allan Kyambadde to net his eighth goal of the campaign.
The action-packed game also saw Villa goalkeeper Samson Kirya save a first half penalty, sticking out a leg to stop Allan Kayiwa’s effort.
Villa then got their second 12 minutes from time when Kyambadde flicked a header past goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa from Kizza’s deflected effort.
The result moved Villa, who had this game washed out on Tuesday, to 46 points after 21 games, four more than Vipers. The latte have played a game fewer.
They also lead champions KCCA by six although the latter have two games in hand.
