Express Vs SC Villa – Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku @ 4pm Live on Azam TV
In a dramatic five goal thriller in the first round, SC Villa rallied from two goals down at half time to win 3-2 against Express at Nakivubo.
That made it three in three who had gotten a double over their bitterest rivals although it came in the boardroom following abortion of both games.
The first leg aborted after 83 minutes with the Jogoos leading 2-1 at Sazza Ground, Mityana while the second ended moments after Erisa Ssekisambu had equalised for the visitors at Wankulukuku to cancel out John Semazzi strike.
A goal erupted the crowd that had tried to cause violence after a controversial Ibrahim Kayiwa red card moments earlier.
Going into the Tuesday tie, either side still has a minimal chance of claiming the league although it’s entirely out of their hands.
Third on the log with 48 points, Express can win the league with victories in all three remaining fixtures including beating KCCA and pray that Mike Mutebi’s side as well as second placed Vipers falter their remaining games.
The Jogoos on the other hand are also mathematically in the race but must win all their remaining eight games to surpass leaders KCCA who must falter.
“We can’t afford any slip up if we are to grab the chance to clinch the crown,” Express’ Wasswa Bbosa told upl.co.ug. “True, it’s not in our hands but what we have in them is win our remaining games,” he added.
SC Villa have lost twice in succession against The Saints (0-2) and KCCA (0-1) thus Kirya has rallied his troops to avoid a third loss on the bounce.
“The losses are now behind us,” he told upl.co.ug. “Focus is now on the game against Express and the remaining games to end the season on a high,” he added.
The hosts will look to the experience of Tony Odur and Vincent Kayizzi to trouble the visitors defence manned by for Express man Henry Katongole alongside Jonathan Mugabi.
