Three Uganda Premier League sides SC Villa, Soltilo Bright Stars and UPDF overturned first leg deficits to advance to the last 16 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The Jogoos did it the hard way beating hosts Ndejje University 3-0 at the Arena of Visions to win the tie 3-1 on aggregate.

Debutant Geoffrey Wasswa converted a penalty after Ronald Ssekiganda had put the Jogoos in the lead before Emmanuel Wasswa put the icing on the cake for Edward Kaziba’s side.

At Bombo, UPDF scored the winner through Alex Kitata to give the army side a 1-0 win and advance on away goals rule following a 3-2 defeat in the first leg at Arua Hills.

Soltilo Bright Stars needed on form Samuel Ssekamatte brace to beat Paidha Black Angels 3-0 at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

Sula Ssebuza scored the other goal for Baker Mbowa’s hosts on the team.

Those wins bring the total of UPL sides in the next round to 12 with only MYDA, Busoga United, Mbarara City and Kyetume eliminated at this stage.
