Record champions SC Villa halted Vipers’ long winning run holding the champions elect to a goalless draw at Njeru.

The Venoms had won a record nine games on the spin but failed to break down hard fighting Jogoos who had Man of the Match Meddie Kibirige to thank for thwarting all attacks.

Vipers are now on 68 points, one short of their highest ever tally in the competition.

At Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku, hosts Express FC bounced back from back to back defeats to beat BUL 2-1.

George Kasonko own goal and Martin Kiiza strike handed the Red Eagles the deserved win as they held on despite Simon Oketch goal that created a tense finish.

Action in the league continues on Sunday with Mbarara City hosting UPDF at Kakyeeka.
