Police Vs SC Villa – Kavumba Recreation Ground @ 4.30pm
Five SC Villa players including skipper Jonathan ‘Dante’ Mugabi start their indefinite suspension as the club makes a short trip to Kavumba to face bogey side Police.
The five were suspended by the club on grounds of indiscipline although club CEO Ivan Kakembo couldn’t divulge the details.
Goalie Nicholas Ssebwato, defender Misi Katende, midfielder AbdulKarim Kasule and centre forward Karim Ndugwa join Mugabi on suspension with four games to go.
“The five are being investigated over a number of disciplinary issues,” Kakembo stated. “Their cases have been forwarded to the disciplinary committee and for the meantime, they are suspended from all club activities,” he added.
The Jogoos have gone six games without victory after a 3-0 loss to URA over the weekend and in Police, they face a side they are yet to beat in the previous five meetings.
SC Villa’s win over the Cops came in the 2012/13 campaign on February 15, 2013 and since then; two losses and three draws have been registered.
The visitors will rely on former Police striker Umar Kasumba for goals against his former bosses.
Police, under former SC Villa tactician Sam Timbe are 6th on the log with 41 points, three ahead of their day’s opponents but victory for the visitors will see them leapfrog the side due to a superior goal difference.
Ibrahim Kirya’s side are 8th on the 16 team standings and despite having the most number of games in hand, four, they are already out of the race for the title.
